The Pride of Oklahoma Club has announced a calf sale fundraiser that is to take place at the Delaware County Fairgrounds outside of Jay on Saturday March 29th. The fundraiser is to benefit the Delaware County 4H Livestock Judging Team. The calf sale is set to begin at 10:00 AM and run through to 3:00 PM.
The 4H Livestock Judging Team is a program that teaches children the nuances of livestock judging. Many higher education schools, including Oklahoma State University, offer scholarship programs in the discipline.
The Livestock Judging Team is also a great way for the children to learn what judges are looking for in livestock when the students show their own animals at events throughout the year.
Approximately forty head of steers and registered heifers and more will be on exhibit.
Consignments for the top producers have been obtained from Diamonds in the Rough, Mike Butler, Jason McPeak, Wolf Creek Cattle, Will Lane, Fowler Cattle, Kester Cattle Company, J Bar 7, Circle C Angus, Trendsetter Genetics, and Ben and Joe Elmore.
