10 seconds…every 10 seconds a case of child abuse is reported in the United States. The statistic are staggering, luckily one local agency is doing it’s part to help abused children in our area, the Delaware County Children’s Special Advocacy Network (DCCSAN). On Saturday, November 13 you have the opportunity to help these children at the “Winterset” fundraiser that will benefit DCCSAN.
The theme for Winterset is “Giving Hope ~Giving Hope” and the event will take place at the Grove Civic Center beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 13. Tickets are only $50.00 per person and are available at all our local banks. Corporate table sponsorships are also available for $500.
A fabulous meal catered by The Lazy Parrot will be served. After dinner we have the live auction with some amazing items including; 10 days and 9 nights of paradise with you and your sweetheart in Hawaii, Art work created for this incredible night. Other items like Kawasaki Mule 610 Utility Vehicle and of course we have Winterset traditions including The Grand Dinner on the Lake.
Guests will dance the night away to the sound of Red Ambition Band. During the evening a silent auction will featuring some fabulous items donated by local business including a Secret Life of Grand Lake Pelican and Guided Fishing Trip.
Winterset is the annual fundraiser for the DCCSAN. As a non-profit organization, DCCSAN provides counseling, therapy and numerous other services available to abused children and their families…always free of charge to the family. Healing for these children starts with your support.
In these difficult times our children need support more than ever. With un-employment on the rise, so does the risk of child abuse as stressed increase in the home.
DCCSAN must have the financial support of our community to continue their operation of helping abused children. Though their overhead costs are extremely low, the average cost for each child to benefit from DCCSAN services is $1200 per child. A special program called “Heal a Heart” has been established. This program is an opportunity for everyone to help heal the hearts of these precious children. Those participating in the program pledge their support through a contribution. Several people have already pledge their support of $1200 to cover the cost of providing services to a child for a period of one year. The contribution can be divided up throughout the year in monthly, quarterly, semi-annual or an annual basis. The “Heal A Heart” program will gratefully accept donations of any size.
