JAY - An outstanding warrant was issued for a Delaware County man charged with stealing money from a Grove utility authority.

Marty Yust, 30, of Cleora, is charged in Delaware County District Court in Jay with second-degree burglary and petit larceny. A bench warrant for $3,500 was issued on July 14, according to court records.

Yust, a former Grove Municipal Services Authority employee, is accused of stealing approximately $1,200. He worked for the city as a part-time buildings and ground employee since April 2007.

Yust was terminated July 9th.

Earlier Mark Morris, Grove police chief said Yust confessed to stealing the money from secured desk drawers and filing cabinets and a donation box. The former city employee was caught after the police set up surveillance equipment, he said.

“We were very concerned because we were dealing with monies entrusted to us by the public and we take that trust seriously,” Morris said.
