Due to ice-slicked streets, Grove Schools held one-day final exams on Friday  of last week, according to Superintendent Tom Steen.

More extensive semester finals had originally been planned, but all the schools were closed for the first three days of the week.

Classes in Grove resumed Thursday.

Some schools in northeastern Oklahoma are postponing semester finals until after the first of the year because of the weather.

Jenks, Broken Arrow and Union schools canceled classes for a third day Wednesday because of icy streets and will now delay final exams except for 6th through 8th-graders in Broken Arrow.

In the Tulsa district classes resumed Tuesday and individual school principals will determine the finals schedule.

All districts are expecting to hold classes Thursday and the tests are now scheduled for Jan. 6 and 7 to give students and teachers the rest of the week and Jan. 5 to prepare.
