JAY – The former president of the Cleora School Board faces charges of sexual misconduct with two juvenile girls.

Tommy Hoover, 59, of Afton, has been charged with two felony counts of rape by instrumentation, two felony counts of forcible oral sodomy, one felony count of rape in the second degree and one felony count of lewd molestation in alleged incidents with two underage females. The incidents reportedly occurred between March and October of last year.

According to the probable cause affidavit filed in district court, Hoover, on two separate occasions fondled both girls and had sex with the younger one in one incident. The younger girl claimed that Hoover gave her $20 after the assault. Both girls stated they were afraid and did not resist his advances.

Hoover’s original bond was set at $275,000, but was reduced in district court Thursday to $100,000. He posted bond and was released the same day on the conditions that he have no contact with the alleged victims and no immediate contact with minors.

Hoover resigned from the Cleora School Board after charges were filed.

He will return to district court in Jay on April 11 at 9:30 a.m.
