A Grove man was arrested on numerous charges after nearly colliding with a police car Saturday night, according to a report by the Grove Police Department.
Bryan James Richardson, 21, was taken into custody around 2:00 a.m. Saturday after officers who had stopped another driver at Third St. and Main heard squealing tires and turned to find Richardsonís vehicle speeding towards one of theirs, the report said.
Richardson reportedly swerved around the vehicle at the last moment and Officer Daniel Amendolara pursued him and eventually pulled him over near 16th Street on Highway 59, the report said.
Richardson was found to be intoxicated and was arrested, according to the report.
A search of Richarsonís vehicle revealed open containers of alcohol, two marijuana pipes and a clear plastic baggy containing a substance that tested positive for marijuana, the report said.
Richardson was issued citations for aggravated DUI, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, and transporting an open container.
