An improperly installed external heater may have been the cause of a fire that destroyed a Grove family’s home Wednesday afternoon, according to officials.

Fire fighters and emergency personnel from the Grove Fire Department, Integris Grove EMS, Cowskin Fire Department, and Butler Fire Department responded to the blaze around 3:00 p.m. Wednesday.

No one was injured in the fire.

The home, which was located on Highway 10 south of the Cowskin Bridge, was reportedly a total loss.
