JAY – An Eucha man died when his pickup left the highway and hit a tree.
William Baker, 54, of Eucha was pronounced dead at the scene on Sunday at 7:19 p.m. Baker, traveling in his 1994 Ford pickup was traveling west on State Highway 20 when his pickup failed to negotiate a curve, left the roadway traveling 62 feet before striking a tree, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Ruben Hernandez.
According to the report, the cause of the accident was unsafe speed on a curve. Seat belts were equipped, but were not in use. Baker was not trapped in the vehicle and was transported to the Worley Funeral Home in Jay.
