The Grove Police Department recently acquired a new vehicle which will be used primarily for Animal Control.
Lt. Mark Sheridan said the vehicle is fully equipped and can be used for patrol as well.
“Its primary use is animal control, but it has four-wheel-drive and can be used by officers in the event of inclement weather,” Sheridan said.
The Ford F-150, which hit the streets the week of July 14th, has lights, a siren, and other police equipment and will soon have a Tommy lift for deer and other large animals.
Animal Control Officer Debbie Tanner said she is very pleased with the new vehicle.
“I love it! It’s fun to come to work and drive it,” she said.
Sheridan said, “The city was very gracious to provide us with this vehicle. We would like to thank Mr. Johnson and the council for taking care of the needs of the Animal Control Department.”
