Officials are still investigating an early morning accident that killed two young men and injured two more on Har-Ber Road west of Broadway in Grove Wednesday.

Chase Campbell, 21, Grove, and Derick Arneecher, 22, Grove, both expired from massive injuries at the scene, according to a release from the Grove Police Department.

Assistant Police Chief Dan Hinman said Grove residents Jesse Hale, 19, and Isaiah Crawford, 21, were taken by ambulance to Integris Grove General Hospital and then life-flighted in serious but stable condition to Joplin hospitals following the wreck.

According to Detective Sgt. Mark Sheridan, the four-door pick-up that the young men were in was traveling westbound when it left the roadway, colliding with a guardrail and some trees before flipping onto its top at about 4:50 a.m.

Sheridan said all of the occupants of the vehicle were entrapped for at least half an hour and were extricated with the Jaws of Life.

Sheridan noted that Reverend Gary Bishop had been instrumental in helping the department with the bereaved families of the victims.
