GROVE – The amount of sales and use tax distributed for the month of February rose for the city of Grove this year, according to a month report by the Oklahoma Tax Commission.

Sales tax collected from December 16th to December 31 and estimates sales from January 1st to January 15th on the city’s 3.4 percent sales tax resulted in the distribution of $477,931.04 from the state in that time period, an increase from the $334,980.58 the city received for the same time last year.

In addition, Grove’s city use tax rose from $42,208.39 to $54,230.20.

Countywide, Delaware County saw an increase in the monthly distribution, according to the figures published in the monthly report.

The county’s one percent sales tax netted a monthly distribution of $220,103.09 compared to the $183,655.14 received by the county for the same period last year.

The monthly distribution of sales tax collections by the Oklahoma Tax Commissioner primarily represents local tax receipts reported.

Monies received by cities and counties from sales tax help fund capital improvements.

This February, the state distributed $121,676,386 in sales tax collections to 505 cities and towns. That amount was an increase of $3,641,813 from the $118,034,573 distributed to 504 cities and towns in February last year.

A use tax collected on outside sales resulted in a February disbursement of $9,117,774 shared by 346 cities and towns.

In county returns, 75 counties shared in a $25,326,161 sales tax disbursement. A use tax disbursement of $2,143,076 was distributed between 65 counties.

Fairland (3%) - $14,738.94 down from $15,015.74; $3,021.63 up from $1,717.20
