The Grove police department is accepting applications for the 2011 Citizens Police academy.

The academy will start March the 10th at 6:30 p.m. Academy classes will be every Thursday from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. for six weeks. The academy will cover topics such as intro to law enforcement, traffic stops, building searches, criminal investigations, communications, E-911, Drug enforcement and other law enforcement topics.

This is a hands on academy where the you can participate in the mock scenarios if you choose. This is a great way to lean about your police department, meet your police officers and have a lot of fun.

After graduating from the academy you can join the Grove citizen police academy alumni which are an organization that supports the Grove Police department in community events.

Anyone Interested can pick up an application at the Grove Police department at 11 east 3rd or print the application by going to the City of Grove web site then going to the Grove Police department link.

To attend you must be at least eighteen years old there are no physical requirements anyone over 18 years of age are welcome to attend. SEATS ARE LIMITED SO PLAN EARLY TO COMPLETE YOUR APPLICATION.
