LOCUST GROVE – A Mayes County man pinned for almost an hour underneath his vehicle was pronounced dead at the accident scene, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported Wednesday.

Michael Wayne Hooker, 51, died from massive injuries after being partially ejected through the driver’s side window, the patrol said. .

The collision occurred on December 31 around 2:30 p.m. about one mile west of Locust Grove on a County Road 560, the patrol said.

Courtney Marie Calvert, 19, of Locust Grove, was flown by helicopter to Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa with leg injures and was listed in fair condition after being pinned in her vehicle for approximately 30 minutes.

The patrol reported Calvert’s vehicle went left of center and struck Hooker’s vehicle which overturned coming to rest on the driver’s side.
