GROVE – Icy roads caused a one car accident Monday afternoon, which sent a Grove man to a Joplin hospital with leg injuries, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.
David Miller, 62, was driving on county road 250 one mile northwest of Grove when he ran off the right side of the roadway and went into a broad slide and struck a utility pole, the patrol reported.
Miller was admitted to Freeman Hospital in Joplin with leg injuries and was listed in fair condition, the patrol said.
In another weather-related accident a tractor-trailer hit an icy patch on the Will Rogers Turnpike early Monday near the Adair exit and veered off the road, the patrol reported.
The cab turned upside down catching the rig on fire.
The driver died in the accident. The patrol said they have not released his identity.
