A Grove resident was injured and a Salina man was killed in two separate motorcycle accidents over the weekend, according to reports by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP).

Paul Lawrence Irvine, 63, of Grove sustained internal trunk, arm and leg injuries Sunday when his Harley Davidson failed to negotiate a curve and went into a ditch just before noon approximately 8.5 miles west and 1.5 miles north of Jay on County Road 510, the patrol said.

Irvine was transported by Air-E-Vac to Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa where he was listed in stable condition.

On Saturday night, sometime between 10 p.m. and midnight, Idess Wayne Scroggis, 32, of Salina, was killed when his motorcycle failed to negotiate a curve on State Highway 82 two miles south of Langley and struck a tree, the OHP said.

Scroggins died of massive injuries at the scene, according to the OHP. The report said he was not discovered until Sunday at 3:25 p.m.
