Grand Lake Association President Chuck Perry says Grand Lakers need not worry, tourism dollars are coming soon.
“The most important thing that Grand Lake residents need to know is that tourism
dollars are coming to us. But these are government funds and the government doesn’t work as fast as a private facility.
It takes time,” Perry said. Perry, one of eight Department of Tourism and Recreation
Commissioners in the State of Oklahoma, says that Grand Lake accounts for onesixth
of all the tourism dollars collected in the state.
“We are a huge asset to tourism in the state of Oklahoma,” Perry said. “Tourism is the third largest industry in Oklahoma bringing in more than 6.2 billion in tourism dollars each year. Of that, the northeast corridor, primarily Grand Lake, is responsible for more than one billion dollars of that money.
