The Grove Area Chamber of Commerce held its annual banquet Friday night, July 18th, and the chairmanís gavel was passed from Steve Williams to Jaime Zellow.
Congressman Dan Boren (D-Oklahoma) was the special guest speaker at the banquet, which was held at the Grove Moose Lodge.
He spoke about promoting local growth and creating jobs. He said Oklahomaís economy is still growing at a steady pace despite the problems with the national economy.
Chamber Executive Director Lisa Friden had good news for banquet attendees.
Grove has been named the Best Small Town in Oklahoma by Oklahoma Magazine.
In addition, Friden reported that the Chamberís membership is at the highest itís ever been.
Approximately 100 Chamber members attended the function.
Some of the people recognized at the banquet were Ivan Devitt, Incoming Chairman, Broc Unruh, Treasurer, and Steve Williams, Past Chairman.
