A Grove man and his four-year-old daughter were injured in a two-car accident Thursday afternoon at the intersection of First St. and North Cherokee, according to the Grove Police Department.
Charles Vaught and his daughter were transported to Integris Grove General Hospital, according to Grove Police Officer Ray Harvey. He said Vaught complained of back pains.
The accident occurred around 4:20 p.m. when a 2000 Chevy four-door driven by Helen Sauer of Grove ran a stop sign and struck the Vaught vehicle, Harvey said.
Sauer was traveling east on First Street at the time of the accident. She was reportedly uninjured.
The 2002 Chevy Trailblazer driven by Vaught was traveling north on N. Cherokee when it was struck, Harvey said. It continued traveling north after the impact and struck a utility pole and a telephone box.
Vaught was wearing his seatbelt and his daughter was in a child seat, Harvey said.
He added that Sauer was cited for Failure to Stop.
