JAY – A Grove man, on probation for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and drug charges, has been taken into custody after officers discovered marijuana and drug paraphernalia in his home.

Brandy Reed Medeiros, 36, of Grove, was arrested on Nov. 13 after Delaware County Sheriff’s detectives Ron Teel, Dan Wheatley and Mike Eason with the District Attorneys Office District 13 Drug Task Force, went to the Medeiros home for a routine search conducted under the supervision of the probation and parole board.

According to the probable cause affidavit, officers searched the home, located approximately 637 feet from a school, and discovered a substance that field-tested positive for marijuana and several items of drug paraphernalia.

Medeiros was arrested at that time and transported to the Delaware County Jail where he remains incarcerated on a $50,250 bond. He could face charges of possession or purchasing a controlled dangerous substance within 1000 feet of a school, a felony, and a misdemeanor charge of possessing drug paraphernalia.
