 JAY – Delaware County Commissioners had a full agenda that included resolutions, agreements and bids during their meeting held Monday morning.

Commissioners approved a programming resolution for a road project E 578 (old Hwy. 33 and Cedar Rd.) in district #3 and approved a county bridge and road improvement fund for the engineering contract between district #3 and Rose & McCrary.

A bid from Kathryn Reser on property not sold at resale located in Flint Ridge RV Park lot 46 and Flint Ridge RV Park 2 lot 144 in the amount of $100.00 was approved.

A resolution concerning a request to participate in the County Road Machinery and Equipment Revolving Fund was approved by the board.

A tort claim for $552.84 from Skeeter White for damages to his vehicle against Solid Waste was forwarded on to the insurance company. According to White, a liquid from one of the trash trucks poured over his vehicle, causing damage.

 Commissioners received a notice of violation from the June 8 jail inspection and according to the board, corrections are already in process that included several small violations.

 The overcrowding violation still remains on the report and, according to Commissioner Ken Crowder, the report read that a “new facility is still needed”.

 The board approved an agreement to work on private property belonging to Marion and Linda Graham. The property is located in district #1 and concerns removing brush around the Carr Creek Bridge.

 Sealed bids will be let for 2 backup generators for the Delaware County Emergency Management. According to Robert Real, director, one will be set at the Jay Community Center in his office and the other will be portable.

The Grove Fire Department will re-advertise for sealed bids on the purchase of a used ladder truck.

Two items were tabled and included entering into a lease purchase agreement with ODOT and district #1 and approval for the transfer of funds from highway cash into the CBRI account.

 The next meeting will be held on Monday, Sept. 27 starting at 9 a.m. in the commissioners office of the Delaware County Courthouse.
