DELAWARE COUNTY – Out of the ten schools in the county, residents will be voting on three races for school board seats after the filing period ended Dec. 11.
Grove’s Office Number 5 will be up for grabs. Incumbent James Gray will face off against opponent Joe Ethridge. The term of the office is five years.
Dennis Avery and Alan Wilson will both be vying for the Office Number 5 seat for the Kansas school District, also a five-year term
Kenwood’s Office Number 1, a three-year term currently held by Forman Ross, will be decided by voters. Ross will seek to retain his seat against newcomer Anthony Davis.
Those seats drawing no opposition included Jay’s Office Number 5 held by Curt Rader; Colcord’s Office Number 5 held by Lisa Whitmire; Oaks Mission’s Office Number 5 held by Randall Cummings, and Northeast Technology Center’s Joe Hutchison. All are five-year terms.
Three-year terms drawing no challengers were Cleora’s Office Number 1, held by Rick Winfrey, Leach’s office Number 1 held by Alaka Back, and Moseley Schools Office Number 1 held by Kevin Kendrick.
The election will be held on February 9, 2010.
