An Ottawa County strip club remains open despite the arrest of its owner on several alcohol and nudity complaints.

Tammie Pennel, 40, of Afton was arrested Saturday and booked into the Ottawa County jail at 5 a.m. on complaints of selling alcoholic beverages to an intoxicated person, allowing persons under 21 to remain in the designated bar area, allowing an intoxicated person to remain on the licensed premise and allowing nudity acts or simulated sex acts, said Kent James, Alcoholic Beverage Laws Enforcement Commission special agent.

Pennel runs The Body Shop, a rural gentleman’s club that serves liquor and food out of a metal building on the outskirts of Miami. She declined to comment Friday on the advice of her attorney.

The District Attorney’s Office has not filed charges.
