Despite the nation’s economic decline, Grove’s collected sales tax for November rose, and use tax jumped as well, according to a report from the Oklahoma Tax Commission.

The city’s 3.4 percent sales tax collected from September 16th to September 31st and estimated sales from October 1st to October 15th resulted in a distribution of $468,914.19 from the state for that time period. This is an increase from the $319,848.47 the city received during the same time period last year.

Grove’s city use tax spiked from $14,244.88 to $37,024.84 – an increase of more than 50 percent.

The rest of Delaware County saw an increase in the monthly distribution, as well, according to figures published in a monthly report released from the Oklahoma Tax Commission. The county’s 1 percent sales tax netted a monthly distribution of $225,416.35 compared to $175,418.07 received by the county for the same period last year.
