JAY – A West Siloam Springs man accused of sexual misconduct and illegal drug activity pled guilty in Delaware County district court Friday morning.

Charles David Cole, 44, of Watts received six 20-year concurrent sentences for six counts of sexual misconduct.

The balance of the sentence will be suspended upon completion of the Department of Correction’s sex offender program.

Cole was charged with six felony counts including first-degree rape, rape by instrumentation in the first degree and four counts of lewd molestation on Oct. 2, 2008, after two girls claimed he sexually molested them from January 1 to May 1 of this year.

Cole also received 10 years in the Department of Corrections with all but the first five suspended, after pleading guilty to felony counts including distribution of a controlled substance, possessing a firearm while committing a felony and maintaining a place for keeping/selling a controlled substance, stemming from charges filed on June 18, 2008.

Cole was taken into custody in June, after West Siloam Springs Police Chief Larry Barnett and Police Sergeant Tony Stewart, along with Delaware County Drug Task Force Investigator Ron Teel and District Attorney’s Investigator Mike Eason executed a controlled drug buy from the suspect.
