Cyndi McArtor, a Grove resident and business owner, has announced that she will run

for State Senate District 3. The newly drawn State Senate District 3 covers Adair County, eastern Cherokee County, eastern and southern Delaware County, a small area in southeast Rogers County and a portion of southern Mayes County.

McArtor currently owns a property management business she started with her husband, John, in 1995 and has a keen understanding of the challenges of running a business. “With today’s economy, it is vital that we elect common sense legislators that will work to promote business development and encourage job growth. I believe we need to reduce restrictive business regulations, streamline government to make it more efficient and responsive,” stated McArtor.

"Also, by eliminating the waste in state government, there will be more money for education, health services and to help promote tourism which is vital to Oklahoma’s ecomony."

McArtor also stated, “Oklahoma businesses and families are facing great hardships and I want to represent them and be their voice in the Oklahoma Senate. As a native Oklahoman, I appreciate the conservative ideals and principles that have made Oklahoma such a great state. I’ll work hard to keep it that way.”

A member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Grove, McArtor, is an active volunteer in other community organizations. She is also a member of the Grove Chamber of Commerce and Gun Owners of America. John and Cyndi have two grown sons and two grandchildren.

Cyndi will be making her official announcement tonight in Grove at the First Christian Church fellowship hall, 102 W. 4th St., which is across the street from McArtor for Senate Headquarters.
