A two vehicle collision at the intersection E. 260 and 640 Roads resulted with one fatality and two transported to area hospitals Saturday morning.
Hugh Patchin, 82 and his passenger Agnes Patchin, 72 were traveling southbound on South 640 Road. According to a Oklahoma Highway Patrol report, he attempted to make a right turn onto East 260 Road when the 2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse driven by Brandi Jackson of Grove traveling westbound on 260 Road came over a hillcrest and due to excessive speed, struck the 2004 Chevy Tracker he was driving.
One neighbor said that the impact was so loud it sounded like a gunshot. The fatality collision occurred three miles north and two miles east of Grove in Delaware County.
Hugh Patchin, of Grove was transported to Integris Grove Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 8:47 a.m. from injuries sustained in the collision.
Agnes Patchin, also of Grove was transported by Eaglemed to Freeman Hospital in Joplin, MO. She was admitted with head, arm, trunk external and trunk internal injuries in poor condition.
Jackson was transported to Integris Grove Hospital where she was treated and released with trunk external injuries in good condition.
