In our hurry-up, get it done world, we can so easily forget the needs of many less fortunate right here in our area. The upcoming Community Crisis Center’s Festival of Trees in Miami will be an opportunity to gather with others for a lovely evening while still contributing to a very worthwhile endeavor.

"Bonnie Rudick was very excited to be a part of the CCCI’s primary fundraiser and knew she could help others by giving of her time and talent," said Lebow.

She recently spent a month designing and completing a beautiful life-size Santa Claus to be donated by the Oklahoma Home & Community Education program.

As an auction item, Santa will stand alongside many beautiful things including 16 theme Christmas trees. Each fully decorated tree is being donated by various groups in surrounding communities.

Of course an extravaganza such as the December 2 Festival of Trees doesn’t happen just because of one group or one person.

"So many people have been working these past months to make this fundraiser a rousing success, "Lebow said.

The individual teams are from Miami, Vinita, Monkey Island, Jay and Grove. The Miami team members are Vondie Fletcher, Cindy Morris, Janie Clay NEO A&M, Sherrie Raines, Melissa Adkinson and Terra Neal. Vinita team members are Ray Claggett, Retta Coats, Shelly Hale and Larry Cordray. Monkey Island team members are Christal Laury and Joyce
