Area residents and visitors will have a chance to see a first class comedy show Friday night and help benefit a good cause at the same time.

The Branson Comedy Festival All-Stars are coming to Cornerstone Church in Grove on August 22, at 7:00 p.m.

This show features good clean fun appropriate for the whole family.

The show is underwritten by Cornerstone Church on behalf of Kids On First, an Oklahoma not-for-profit organization.

“People ask me if we are about sports or baseball, but we aren’t. We are about abused kids,” explained comedian and Kids On First founder Michael Lee.

“Our mission is to teach as many people as possible about child abuse and motivate as many people as we can to do something about it,” Lee said.

Kids On First produces and distributes training and awareness materials such as audio, video, and printed literature worldwide.

Currently, the organization is in the process of starting a new national initiative called “Parents Praying 4 Kids.”

The member driven initiative involves communications to law enforcement encouraging officials to prosecute crimes against children and to congress encouraging lawmakers to pass legislation to prevent child abuse.

Concerned citizens can join the organization as members at large or start local chapters in their communities by visiting www.kidsonfirst.com.

In addition, sponsorship opportunities are available.
