JAY – An arrest warrant has been issued for a man accused of raping and sexually molesting two young girls.

Carl Norman Gray, 57, of Jay, has been charged with second-degree rape and lewd molestation, both felonies after the now 16-year-old girl came into the Jay Police Department and filed a complaint with Jay Police Officer Kevin Collins on November 13, 2009.

In a probable cause affidavit filed by Jay Police Officer Dave Rathbone, the girl said Gray had been raping and touching her for over two years and “she couldn’t take it anymore.”

She told Officer Rathbone that Gray told her if she didn’t do what he wanted he would call D.H.S. (Department of Human Services) and they would remove her from her home and send her to a foster home.

During an interview with the younger sister of the victim the now 14 year-old girl said that Gray had been raping and touching her sexually, but she couldn’t remember the time frame of the incidents.

She admitted in a later interview that she didn’t disclose what had happened to her at Gray’s hands because she didn’t think anyone would believe her.

An outstanding warrant has been issued for his arrest and a $110,000 bond has been issued.
