Grove Schools received a bounteous harvest from the recent PTO Walk-A-Thon fundraiser.
The Walk-A-Thon raised over $16,000 for the school system and PTO members have been busy delivering checks from the event to teachers and principals during the past two weeks.
The PTO presented checks to the Early Childhood Development Center last Thursday during a student-parent Thanksgiving lunch.
ECC Principal Julie Bloss accepted a check for $2,154.94.
In addition, each teacher at the ECC was presented with a check for $94.
The High School, Middle School, and Upper and Lower Elementary schools received their checks last week.
“The Walk A Thon was a great success as a result of the Grove students collection efforts,” said Angel Hill, PTO Vice President. “It was a privilege to be able to present checks back to the teachers and principals to be used in their respective schools and classrooms.”
The Grove PTO hopes to build on the success of this year’s Walk-A -Thon for the future.
“The teachers of Grove Schools do so much for our children with so little, and we are thankful for their efforts,” said PTO President Christy Wright. “The Walk-A-Thon was a means for our community to acknowledge our teachers’ and administrators’ hard work and to help provide support for the day to day needs of their classrooms. We look forward to making this event an annual tradition.”
