Hinman along with Police Chief Mark Morris and City Manager Bruce Johnson attended a luncheon in Okla. City on Feb. 28 where he was honored with the award of Excellence.
Hinman, who oversees a grant project from the OHSO, was selected for his dedication to highway safety and his excellent performance as project director during fiscal year 2011.
“Our Award of Excellence winners are selected for their willingness to go ‘above and beyond’ in their work on traffic safety,” said Alice Collinsworth, communications manager for the OHSO. “This year, six individuals from across the state were honored because of their tireless work on many diverse traffic safety issues.”
Hinman and the officers who work on the project met or exceeded project goals, Collinsworth added.
“We are very proud of Deputy Chief Hinman and we are fortunate to have such a dedicated person on our department,” said Chief Morris upon his return to Grove.
“At the Oklahoma Highway Safety Office, our goal is to make Oklahoma roadways safer for everyone,” she said. “Deputy Chief Hinman has done an excellent job overseeing this project, and the local community is safer because of his efforts and those of the officers involved.”
