DELAWARE COUNTY – One north county and one south county crash have left two people injured in two days.

Clifford A. Walton, 44, of Grove was transported by Eagle-Med to Freemans Hospital in Joplin after his 1989 Harley Davidson motorcycle failed to negotiate a curve while traveling westbound on a county road 3 ˝ miles south and ˝ mile west of Grove at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.

According to the report by Oklahoma Highway Patrolman Scott Green, Walton ran off the south side of the road for approximately 47 feet before striking a tree. He is listed as critical with head, trunk internal and external, arm and leg injuries. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Monday night at 6:37 p.m. Janella Vann, 35 of Kansas was transported by Cherokee Nation EMS to Siloam Springs Hospital when her Dodge Stratus ran off the right side of the road and struck a fence. The vehicle overturned two complete times before coming to rest. She was westbound ˝ mile East of Oaks on a county road when the accident occurred, according to OHP Trooper Scott Green.

She is listed in stable condition with head, trunk internal and external, arm and leg injuries. She was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

According to the trooper’s report, the odor of alcohol was present at both accidents and the cause of the collisions were listed as unsafe speed.
