Volunteers will gather at the Monkey Island Community Center on January 10 and 11, from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. to complete the quilts we started in November. Even if you don't sew, there is a place for you. We will complete the fifty quilt kits, for shipment to our troops by the Blue Star Mothers in Pryor. Each quilt has a collage of workers pictures and a personal note telling the recipient that we appreciate what they are doing and that we fully support them.

Over 12,000 quilts have been assembled and shipped to our troops thus far in this project, and so many more are needed. While we are grateful the troops came home from Iraq, there are still many more still out in the world. Monkey Island Community Center will provide an opportunity for everyone to show support for and give back to our troops, giving them a quilt that they are not issued. "If you are covered with quilts, you are covered with love."

Volunteers are encouraged to bring any or all of the following: gray thread, sewing machines, scissors, lots of love.

Lunch will be provided both days. Let's gather to show our support for our troops and complete our quilts Jan 10 and 11, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., Monkey Island Community Center. Any questions, contact kaye.slepka@roche.com.
