For the past six years various citizens groups, including the Chamber of Commerce, Boy Scouts, Grand Lake Power Squadron, Grove Rotary, classes from the United Methodist Church and others have volunteered their time to man a drop off site where area residents could bring paper and cardboard to be recycled once a month.

Grove resident Sandy Robison was instrumental in keeping the program viable for the long term.

Due to the economy, there is no longer a recycling company that can pay for paper and cardboard in this area.

As a result this program will be shut down indefinitely. No materials are being accepted at present.

Residents are asked not to leave paper and cardboard or any other materials at the site.

The Humane Society will still be accepting aluminum cans, but only at the Humane Society buildings east of town.
