Two people were injured in a one-vehicle crash Friday night near Bernice, according to a report by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
The driver of the car, Andrew J. Schaaf, 30, of Vinita sustained leg and trunk internal injuries. He was transported to Integris Grove General Hospital where he was treated and released.
A passenger in the vehicle, Christopher J. Brajord, 27,of Tahlequah, was transported to Integris Grove General Hospital and then transferred to Freeman Hospital in Joplin, MO where he was listed in fair condition with head and trunk internal injuries, the report said.
According to OHP, the accident happened when the vehicle, traveling southbound on State Highway 125 two miles north and two miles east of Bernice around 9:13 p.m., ran off the right side of the roadway. The driver reportedly overcorrected, causing the vehicle to cross the road to the other side, hit the ditch and overturn.
