Grove High School Band Director Joe Wilhelm announced last week that four Grove students made 2008 Oklahoma All-State Honors Bands.

Matthew Gallman, who plays clarinet and Jordan Wilhelm, who plays euphonium, made the All-State Honor Concert Band.

Tyler Linn, who plays the trumpet, made the All-State Jazz Band.

Aaron Hodges, who plays the trombone, made the All-State Orchestra.

“Congratulations,” Wilhelm said. “Way to play, Matthew, Aaron, Tyler, and Jordan!  GHS is very proud of you.”

Over 1,800 musicians auditioned for 112 positions in the All-State band, Wilhelm said.

The All-State concert will take place on Saturday, January 31, 2009 at 2:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center in downtown Tulsa during the Oklahoma Music Educators’ Convention.

Jordan Wilhelm is a three-year All-Stater and a six-year Northeastern All-District Honor Band member.

Matt Gallman is a four-year member of the Northeastern All-District Honor Band.

Tyler Linn is a four-year member of the Northeastern All-District Honor Band.

Aaron Hodges is a four-year member of the All-District Honor Band.
