JAY – Delaware County Commissioners handled equipment purchases for county fire departments as well as setting up monies for February during their weekly meeting held Monday morning.
Kenwood Fire Department wasted no time deciding on a demo 10' rescue squad. Before the meeting adjourned, representatives from the fire department chose Ten-8 as the lowest bidder at a cost of $45,500.
Other bids were opened on the lease purchase of a tanker truck for the Butler Fire Department. Firemen from that department chose to wait 2 weeks to review the bids before acceptance.
The Grove Fire Department received two bids for a new pumper truck. They will come back to the board in a week with their decision.
A purchase contract on a backhoe and grader purchased on a lease purchase thru the revolving fund for district #2 was approved and accepting the winning bid submitted on the selling of a John Deere backhoe for district #3 was tabled.
Highway cash for the month of February amounted to $74,695.78 for each district. Blanket purchase orders were approved for the month of February as well.
Commissioners entered into a reap contract in the amount of $50,00 from Grand Gateway. The money will be used to put a roof on the Jay Community Center.
Tabled was the approval of an application of Emergency Operations Center (EOC) for the Delaware County Emergency Management Department.
The next meeting of the Delaware County commissioners will be held on Mon., Feb. 2 starting a 9 a.m. in the Commissioners Office of the Delaware County Courthouse.
