Charles Mack Jackson, Jr., (Bud), passed away peacefully Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018, at Clarehouse in Tulsa, after a seven-year hard-fought battle with dementia.

He was born April 16, 1956, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Mack and Anna Jackson and welcomed by his sister, Chris.

Bud loved sports and was an outstanding athlete in baseball and football at Jesuit High School. As the left-fielder, he caught the last out, resulting in the Flyers winning the 1974 state title. He lettered in both sports all four years.

Bud attended LSU and was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in 1978. He loved, loved those Tigers. After graduation, he moved to Snowmass, Colorado, where he worked for one year, then Shreveport, Dallas and Tulsa, where he followed in his dad's footsteps in the sporting goods industry but later found his true calling as a physical therapist.

With a 1-year-old and a 10-year-old and a working wife, he courageously went back to school, first to TCC, taking the required classes needed for admission to the OU Physical Therapy program, then applied and was accepted.

Even though he lived in Oklahoma City through the week and would drive home to Tulsa every weekend, he still managed to maintain a high-grade point average and was listed consistently on the Dean's Honor Roll.

After earning his degree in physical therapy and obtaining his license, he worked for Tulsa Regional Hospital, then St. John Physical Therapy & Sports Rehab until he was diagnosed in 2012.

Bud met Sherry Buzzard, the love of his life, in 1981, and they were married in July 1982.

They welcomed their first son, Stephen Drew, who was born prematurely in 1984, and then in 1993, were blessed to adopt Benjamin Ross, who completed their little family.

Bud was cared for at home by Sherry until the disease made it impossible, then recently moved to Brookdale Alzheimer's & Dementia Care for a short time, receiving wonderful care, and spent the last hours of his life at Clarehouse in a peaceful and serene setting.

Bud was predeceased by his father, Mack; his grandfather and grandmother, Johnny and Faye Spataro; and his father-in-law, Jeff Muskrat.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry; two sons, Drew and Ben; mother, Anna Jackson; sister, Christina Irion; aunt, Marie Foley; mother-in-law, Imogene Muskrat; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jim and Beverly Buzzard; other heartbroken in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, and his beloved dog, Pudge.

Thank you to each and every caregiver, nurse, administrator who so lovingly cared for Bud in his last days. Words are not sufficient to express the void his death leaves in our family. Condolences may be left at www.moorefuneral.com.
