Foodies and wine connoisseurs will travel from near and far to take part in Grand Lake’s premier food and wine tasting event, Taste of Grand, set for 6 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 22 at 900 East 13th Street in Grove.

This annual event has become a staple in the community where guests indulge in offerings from the finest restaurants and wine vendors from the four state area.

Taste of Grand never disappoints, and this year will be no different. With live music, nearly 30 food and wine vendors, plus other attractions such as a wine pull and drawing, it is a fun evening for a great cause.

Last year’s winners of the Supreme Cuisine, Arrowhead and Cherokee Yacht Clubs, and the People’s Choice award winner, the Artichoke Restaurant, will be attending the event to defend their titles. Those awards, along with several other major awards will be given at the end of the evening.

Not only is Taste of Grand an entertaining Saturday night, the true purpose of the event provides much more to the community than just a fun night out.

All proceeds raised will help improve the health of the community, ease some of Grand Lake residents’ financial burdens related to medical care and provide funding for local programs.

Some examples of programs include the People in Need fund, Defibrillator Campaign, Camp Bandage, Townsend Children’s Fund and the Cancer Patient Assistance Fund.

The majority of funds raised from the event comes from sponsorships and ticket sales. Taste of Grand is presented by Bank of Grand Lake with additional support from major event sponsor Nabholz Corporation and premiere sponsors, Grand Lake Dental, Grand River Abstract and Title, Grove Dental Associates and Midwest Aero Care.

“Bank of Grand Lake has supported Taste of Grand at the highest level each year since its inception. This year they made a very generous increase to their sponsorship by making a $10,000 donation to the hospital foundation. This is the largest sponsorship we’ve ever offered and we are thrilled that Bank of Grand Lake so enthusiastically agreed to the sponsorship. We are so appreciative of their faithful support,” said Kristi Wallace, chairperson of the event.

Becky Rutter, the INTEGRIS Grove Hospital Foundation chairperson said, “Bank of Grand Lake has allowed us to help countless people through the hospital foundation thanks to their generous support, including their $1 million dollar donation to the hospital building fund, establishing the Townsend children’s fund to provide medical and dental care to children in need, and their continued support of Taste of Grand and other foundation events.”

Wallace shared, “We are also thrilled to welcome Nabholz Corporation back for their third year with a substantial sponsorship as our Major Event Sponsor. They are a very generous corporation and we are thankful for their continued support."

Taste of Grand tickets are $85 and may be purchased online at www.TasteOfGrand.com. All proceeds benefit the INTEGRIS Grove Hospital Foundation, a nonprofit organization that funds continuing advancements in local health care and medical treatments for those in need.
