It is with great sadness that the family of James Frank Abercrombie announce his peaceful passing on Sunday, July 29, 2018, at the age of 90 in Farmington, New Mexico.
Jim was born to Linzzie and Eva Bland Abercrombie in Avant, Oklahoma, on Aug. 30, 1927.
Jim had an amazing life. He joined the U.S. Navy as a young man, as an aviation machinist.
After the military, Jim had a long successful business career in the oil industry. Jim lived most of his adult life in Enid and Grove.
He was an avid golfer. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Jim had a passion for flying, and was an excellent pilot.
He had many road trips on his motorcycle, he loved to ride. Jim was active in his community, he was a life member of the Masonic Lodge, Shriner's, and American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his brothers: Ray Abercrombie and Bob Abercrombie; sister; Mary Welch; and daughter: Lana Abercrombie.
Jim has left behind two sons: Ron Abercrombie and Rick Abercrombie; two daughters: Lynda Hjelm and Cathy Abercrombie; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jim was quite the character and will be remembered by family and friends.
Jim was laid to rest on Wednesday, Aug. 1, in Farmington.
