Thunder on Wolf Creek

The sixth annual Thunder on Wolf Creek, known as the "greatest show on the water," will take place Friday, June 29 to Sunday, July 1, at Wolf Creek Park, Grove.

The event will include three days of fun including 20 heats of hydroplane and runabout boat racing.

Hosted by the Oklahoma Boat Racing Association, the event is sanctioned by the National Boat Racing Association. More than 65 boats, representing teams from 15 states, are expected to participate.

Testing starts at noon, on Friday, June 29. Racing takes place, following opening ceremonies at 12:30 p.m., on Saturday, June 30, and noon, Sunday, July 1.

Huckleberry Festival 5K Fun Run

The annual Stan Jones & Caleb Bardwell Memorial 5K & Fun Run will take place on Saturday, June 30, at J.B. Earp Stadium in Jay.

The fun run starts at 7:30 a.m., while the 5K begins at 8 a.m. Registration begins at 6 p.m.

Day of registration is $25 for the 5K and $15 for the fun run.

Huckleberry Festival Carnival

Advanced tickets for the Huckleberry Festival Carnival, set for Saturday, June 30 to Wednesday, July 4, at the RVC Pavilion, Jay are now being sold at the Arvest Bank and Grand Savings Bank branches in Jay, and the Marie Wallace Museum.

Tickets are $20 in advance. Pre-sale of wrist bands end at 5 p.m. on Friday, June 29. Wristband nights take place from 6 to 10 p.m., Saturday, June 30, Sunday, July 1, Monday, July 2, and Tuesday, July 3 and are only good for one evening of the rider’s choice.
