The Delaware County Commissioners approved to lower the speed limit nears West Siloam Springs area to 25 miles per hour during the Monday, May 7 meeting.

“The address is East 570 Road in Colcord, but it is in the West Siloam Springs area,” said Martin Kirk, Delaware County Commissioner for District No. 3.

Vicki Cossairt, Human Services Director requested the commissioners make a decision on several pending issues, such as the travel reimbursement policy, courthouse security, outside employment policy and stipends.

“We need to make sure all county vehicles are marked,” Cossairt said.

Cossairt also reminded the commissioners the county policy prohibits a non-employee riding in a county vehicle unless its county business.

“Same applies for county cell phones,” Cossairt said. “A county cell phone cannot be used for private use.” 

In financial business, the commissioners approved a $200 blanket purchase order for Pikepass for District No. 2.

The commissioners also approved an Excise account intrafund transfer of $1,400 of which $1,000 will be transferred to its personal service account and $400 to its travel account and transfer $10,000 from the Tia Juana Fire Department maintenance and operations account to its capital outlay account.

Three separated transfers, $9,623.11, $3,000 and $17,139.20 were transferred from the sheriff’s maintenance and operations account to its personal services accounts.

A $360 correction from the county clerks maintenance and operations account to its travel account.

Other financial matters approved was to advertise for sealed bids on uniform service and paper and cleaning products and to use a $3,000 for a donation project.

“The money is used to resurface South 617 Road in Grove,” said Russell Martin, commissioner chairman.

The board also approved a utility permit for a road cut/bore as requested by Travis Wright which crosses 28038 S. 640 Road in Grove and a detention services agreement with Sac and Fox Nation.

The next meeting is 9 a.m., Monday, May 14 at the Delaware County Courthouse in the Commissioners’ Public Meeting room.
