It took Bartlesville firefighters approximately 15 minutes to get an early morning fire at Brookhaven Apartments under control.
“Firefighters did a great job getting this contained and putting it out,” BFD Public Information Officer Bill Hollander said.
The initial call came in at about 5:40 a.m. that there was smoke coming from an apartment.
“Upon arrival firefighters discovered that there was indeed smoke coming from an apartment,” he said. “They made entry and discovered that there was a fire in one unoccupied apartment.”
Residents in the surrounding apartments were evacuated, he said, and within 15 minutes of the discovery fire personnel had the fire under control.
“They spent the rest of the time mopping up and the residents were able to return,” he said. “I’m not sure what the cause was yet, but no one was hurt and the damage was minimal.”
