Ridgerunners soccer is 5-3 in their season after a loss to Skiatook at home with the final score as 1-4.
The game was close in the first half with Skiatook only able to score one goal against the Ridgerunners defense ending the half trailing behind 0-1.
It was the second half of play that got away from the team with Skiatook netting three more points.
The Ridgerunners were able to score in the second half of play preventing a shutout.
Skiatook was sure to present a challenge to the boys as they came into the night with an 8-2 record.
The team is on the road next playing Daniel Webster 9-3 at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 13 before returning home for their last home game of the season April 17 against Oologah.
The Lady Ridgerunners played Skiatook as well before the boy’s game losing 0-6 bringing their season record to 7-5.
The girls got behind early in the game with Skiatook scored twice in the first half at the 29 minute mark and again at 24:48.
With the Lady Ridgerunners trailing 0-2 at the half they took some time as a team to discuss the game so far.
After returning for the second half of the game the Lady Ridgerunners were unable to score against Skiatook and despite their best efforts finished the game trailing 0-6.
Skiatook’s girls’ soccer team also entered the game with an 8-2 record.
They Lady Ridgerunners will face off against Daniel Webster 3-9 before the boy’s game at 5:30 p.m. Friday April 13.
