Blackwood Brothers in Concert

The Blackwood Brothers Quartet, an award-winning gospel music group, will perform at 7 p.m., Thursday, April 12, at Trinity Baptist Church, Grove.

This is the ninth appearance by the Blackwoods in Grove.

Friends of the Library sale

Members of the Friends of Grove Public Library are looking for donations for the upcoming Spring Book Sale.

The sale, slated for 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, April 14, takes place at the Grove Community Center, 104 West Third, Grove.

Donations will be accepted for the sale, of gently used books, after 3 p.m., on Thursday, April 12, or from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday, April 13, at the community center.

The spring book sale is the largest fundraiser for the Friends of the Grove Public Library. The funds will benefit the “Books for Babies” - a new book given to every baby born at INTEGRIS Grove Hospital, a $1,000 for a graduating Grove High School senior, prizes for the summer reading program and any special needs or updating for the library.

Hardback books are $1, paperbacks .25 cents, romance books are .10 cents and children's books are .25 cents. Proceeds from the sale will benefit programs sponsored by the organization at the Grove Public Library.

Lady Liberty Style Show

The Delaware County Republican Women's Lady Liberty Style Show will take place at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 16, at the Grove Christian Center, Highway 10 and Shundi Road, Grove.

The event includes a style show, luncheon and silent auction. Elizabeth West, wife of State Rep. Josh West (R-Grove) will serve as the keynote speaker. Special music will be provided by Lynda Vernon.

Tickets are $10 and may be purchased at Grand Home Center and will be available at the door.

The event benefits the group's scholarship fund. The $2,000 scholarship is awarded to a Delaware County female student. The scholarship recipient is picked based on a 500-word essay, her grade point average and an interview with the scholarship committee.
