The city council will vote on Tuesday, April 3, to approve a resolution that supports funding education.
The meeting is set for 6 p.m. at the Grove Community Center, Room 5.
Grove Mayor Ed Trumbull, a Grove School District middle school science teacher, asked for a resolution supporting funding of education at the last city council meeting.
During the March 19 meeting, Trumball said the resolution should support proper funding.
Trumbull cited issues surrounding the financial state of education, stating funding for supplies comes from the Grove Education Foundation for Excellence or from the teachers themselves.
He also noted issues concerning an increase in class sizes, as well as a limited amount of electives being offered.
In other business, the council will also approve a bid for the annual street repair improvement project. The four companies who filed bids were Energy Sapp and Sons, Inc., Crosslands Heavy Contractors Inc., Ellsworth Construction, LLC., B and S Construction Company.
The council will also vote to approve:
• an amended agreement with Rose and McCrary Engineering.
• a resolution to the city’s budget.
• a resolution declaring April as Fair Housing Month.
