A chance to meet face to face people wanting to serve the people of Oklahoma.

That's how Terry Jones describes his "meet and greet" set to take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m., Friday, March 16, at the Grove Regional Airport.

The event brings together five Republican candidates for governor, lt. governor, insurance commissioner, labor commissioner and state treasurer.

Jones, who has worked as a legislative liaison for both Rep. Doug Cox (R-Grove) and now Rep. Josh West (R-Grove) said he invited several candidates with whom he was familiar with from past interactions.

Five were able to fit the visit to Grove into their schedules: Kevin Stitt - Governor, Matt Pinnell - Lt. Governor, Rep. Leslie Osborn - Labor Commissioner, Rep. Glen Mulready - Insurance Commissioner, and Rep. Randy McDaniel - State Treasurer.

Current Lt. Governor Todd Lamb was one of the candidates invited to attend but could not because of a previous engagement.

"I think it's important our public has an opportunity to visit with candidates," Jones said. "It's nice to be able to put a face with the name."

Jones said the event will give Grove area residents a chance to learn more about each candidate before the June primary elections.

He encouraged people to come out for the entire hour and half, in order to have a chance to speak with all five candidates.

He also anticipates each candidate will be given a chance to speak briefly to those gathered at the airport.

The Grove Regional Airport is located at 335 Airport Dr, Grove. The entrance to the new terminal building is located just north of the Grove High School on Ford Road.
