Officials at Thunder Bowl Lanes in Grove hosted the annual Grove City Tournament during the first weekend of March with two shifts of singles and doubles events on Saturday and two shifts of team events on Sunday.

The tournament is hosted by officials from the Grand Lake Association United States Bowling Congress (GLAUSBC) which is the sanctioning body for league bowlers at Thunder Bowl Lanes.

Each event consisted of three games and bowlers could bowl in more than one event with different partners. Participants bowling in more than one of the same event could only use their scores from the first three games bowled in that event for All Events prize consideration.

Cash prizes were based on the number of entries and were awarded to singles, doubles, and team winners for both men and women. Tournament champion prizes were half of the proceeds from the sales of 50/50 tickets and the bake sale held during the event.

Mike Easter and Beverly Buzzard roll their way to tournament champions. Hall of Fame members the late Joyce Kennedy and Harold Henne were honored at the conclusion of the event.

The next tournament, the Thunder Bowl Invitational, will take place April 7 and 8,  at Thunder Bowl Lanes. This tournament is open to sanctioned bowlers from all neighboring bowling centers.
