Grove Chamber to host tax seminar
Officials with the Grove Area Chamber of Commerce, along with Northeast Tech will host at tax update seminar with Dean Mills, CPA, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 25, at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 555 East Third Street, Grove.
Topics will include the impact of the tax cuts and jobs act to business and personal taxes, new guidelines for auto and travel expenses, the scoop on tax audits and also provide participants a chance to ask questions.

Huckleberry Park Cleanup Day
Volunteers are needed to help clean up Huckleberry Park in Jay, located behind Arvest Bank in Jay.
The effort is being organized by officials with the City of Jay, in an effort to make the community a better place.
The work day is set for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 27, at the park. Participants are asked to bring rakes, gloves, seedeaters and other lawn tools to help with the effort.

Jay Chamber Monthly Meeting
Members of the Jay Chamber of Commerce will meet for the monthly meeting on Thursday, Feb. 1, at the Mariee Wallace Museum.

Souper Bowl Saturday
The Fourth Annual Souper Bowl Saturday will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 3, at INTEGRIS Grove Hospital.
The event will include a large assortment of homemade soups for $5 - for a bowl of soup or four sample size portions, a drink and dessert, beginning at 11 a.m.
It will also include performances by the Grove High School Jazz Band, and free medical screenings including blood pressure, bone density, height weight and BMI, vision and cholesterol/glucose.

Grove Home, Garden Show
The annual Home and Garden Show, sponsored by the Grove Area Chamber of Commerce, will take place Friday, Feb. 9 to Sunday, Feb. 11, at the Grove Civic Center, 1702 South Main, Grove.
Entry fees for members are $225 for a 10x10 booth, and $200 for an additional 10x10 booth space; for non members, the fees are $275 and 250 respectively. For booths touching the center court, have an additional $50 per 10x10 booth space fee.
No applications will be processed until payment is received. Drapes, side rails, tables, chairs and badges are provided to vendors.

2017 Grand Lake Boat Show
Preparations are underway for the 21st Annual Grand Lake Boat Show set for Thursday to Sunday, March 8 to 11, at the Grove Civic Center, 1720 S. Main in Grove.
Show hours include noon to 5 p.m., Thursday, March 8, and Friday, March 9, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., on Saturday, March 10, and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Sunday, March 11.
Additionally, a VIP night will run from 6 to 9 p.m., on Friday, March 9.
Admission is $5 a day or $10 for a three-day pass. On March 8, admission is free for military personnel and those 65 years and over. The cost for the VIP night is $15.

Toes in Grand Summer Kickoff Festival
Officials with the Grove Area Chamber of Commerce and the Grove Convention and Tourism Bureau will host the first "Toes in Grand" Summer Kickoff Festival, on Friday, June 1, and Saturday, June 2, at Wolf Creek Park in Grove.
The event will feature the largest free Trop Rock Music Festival in the Four-State Region including bands from Texas, Oklahoma and Missouri, as well as fun activities, contests and more.
It will also kick off the summer's Food Truck Friday, with food trucks being at the festival both Friday and Saturday.
The weekend's events include an open car show, 5K Fun Run, Kids Zone, vendors, and more.
