Several members of the Rotary Club of Grove recently organized a workday at Delaware County Friendship Homes (DCFH) in Jay.
Members of the group spent several hours raking leaves, gathering limbs and completing other clean-up jobs to help with grounds maintenance and beautification. Rotary members plan to complete another workday in December.
Delaware County Friendship Homes was established in 1985 to meet the needs of men and women with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Now serving nearly 50 men and women in Jay,
DCFH provides residential and vocational services as well as quality of life activities. DCFH recently became a subsidiary of Home of Hope, headquartered in Vinita.
In addition to other activities, DCFH is the proud home of the nationally recognized Fighting Peacocks softball team. DCFH is the third largest employer in Jay, providing 70 jobs and serving as a central part of the local economy.
